There has always been a thin line between being a respected member of a society and being considered a disgrace; one small mishap and all come down crumbling.
The line between the two has been made even thinner by technology, this very same thing that has revolutionized is also responsible for destroying so many great careers, bring shame to some all while uplifting some lucky people.
Nandy and Billnas, two talented, young people are the latest victims of technology.
I know this doesn’t fit the narrative out there since almost everyone is crucifying the two; the equivalence of kicking someone when they are down.
To some of us nobodies, we feel safe since there is virtually no one really invested in our lives so much that they’d bother digging to expose some of our deep secrets but I believe that almost 90% of those who are now championing all the insults have some pretty bad things in their lives and their phones they will never let another eye see let alone.
As bad as this whole situation is we should never forget one simple fact, Nandy and Bilnas are just people like me and you. Being music stars doesn’t promote them to sainthood; sure they should be more careful but when they mess up can we cut them some slack and know they are just as stupid as the rest of us?
I am not trying to justify in any way “disgusting behavior” displayed by the two stars but this is a testify of a bigger thing, a conversation we all need to have with our loved ones especially kids.
We are handing over “role models” tags to each and everyone who is slightly famous.
Most of celebrities can not even take care of themselves, yet we burden them with being a mirror through which we all look at to figure out life.
Truth be told, intelligence-wise, we have “idiots” for famous people; this means the people we consider regular are way smarter than these celebrities.
With all the social media ruining the culture we never had, parents have handed out their children to be molded by this alien technology and this type of parents are the one making so much noise about celebrities ruining their children while its their responsibility in shielding their children or minimizing the impacts of the type of exposure that kids are getting.
Our society needs to get away from hypocrisy and take off the shoulders of these celebrity a role of moral compass. These people (Nandy, Bilnas like people) are the reflection of what our society really is, we are a messed society and this should be a wake-up call in steering things in a right direction. Instead of spending so much time throwing insults and mocking these two, let us sit back and analyze what are we becoming as a country.
It’s easy to point fingers, this will pass, many other incidents will come and we will do the very same thing until we will get used to it.
Most importantly, can all of us be smart enough to copy the great things from these so-called role models and leave all the other crappy, useless stuffs??
Thank you.
