Social Media:- Insanity

Why are we so busy trying to meet people online...? Why do we let the relationships we have in real life wither and spend so much time in this virtual reality? Why are we so obsessed with likes, shares, and comments than smiling and giving hugs to those we are close to?
Why are our phones and computers are our new best friends, we spend so much time on the internet scrolling up and down to the extent that most of us are oblivious of what's going on around us? The first thing we do after waking up is checking our phone, and most of the time it's not to call your loved one; it’s just checking your social media accounts and catch up with the latest gossips.
As a result of all these, we find ourselves trying to live the life we see on social media. Our definition of things changes, the beauty and smartness are measured by the standards set by this thing that doesn't know us at all. The saddest part is, all of this doesn't last; today's definition of beauty will eventually fade away, the question is how many times we are going to alter our bodies and looks to fit into what we think is the best at the time.
This is six pack, tattoo, big everything, light color era and we are blindly leading that way with some having surgeries and all types of medicines to achieve "perfection".
Ladies, do you all have to look like Kim Kardashian? Do you need to be looked at like a piece of meat every time you pass by men because trust me, men will always look back at your "luggage" with lust rather than love.
My fellow men, do we really need our sisters and lovers to change who they are for the sake of attention that will probably last few months or years before everybody starts noticing how weird this all is.
The internet has affected us in so many ways, it’s even hard to make meaningful, real life connections. It’s even more awkward initiating a conversation with stranger face to face, but the same two people who cannot connect in real life can say almost anything to one another if you just put a piece of technology in between and they’ll find a connection.
Can we at least try to act as people, smile more, give each other compliment, talk and just enjoy life?
Can we all agree to make just a little effort to have our own brains at work, look and appreciate all that God has given us, accept ourselves wholly and rock the world with who we really are and what we really have?
Pen down, I hope all of us can see the beauty within us and have the courage to go out there and show everybody what’s within us.
