YOU SUCK............ IT’S FINE.

“Hey, you are the best; you know that right? You can do anything you set your mind to, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.”

You are either one of those people who believes this or you are surrounded with some who are totally convinced that they have abilities to do anything they set their mind to, successfully. More than any time in the history of the universe, people are encouraged to feel good about themselves; may be too good.

With millions of writings, seminars, YouTube videos on self (love, esteem, belief etc) this generation feels like we are one step to greatness only if these magic pills that most of the time “suffixes” self- wouldn’t be so elusive. To most of us, there is a strong feeling that we are not getting our hearts desires just because we don’t believe in our abilities to make our dreams a reality. It’s not really that much of our fault, when we are constantly flooded with messages aimed at making us feel good; the likes of you can do anything you set your mind to without regards to what may be our strong points and what weaknesses do we have, it feels like self-sabotage if we do not really believe nor are we moving into the direction that the believers seem to go.

When you filter everything, you will almost always arrive at one simple fact; you suck. You are not any good in so many things and there’s nothing wrong with that. You are definitely exceptional but that extends to a limited number of things but you will never succeed in a million other things. No matter how grand your desire is, no matter how talented and connected you are, there are limits to what you can accomplish and to be honest that is one of the most important things you need to know.

Coming to terms with the fact that you suck, you are inadequate at times, knowing things that you suck at, is the most freeing feeling in the entire world. The sooner you realize this, the easier it is going to be for you to build along your strengths.

Carrying “I can be whatever I wanna be” cross not only weighs you down but also expands the spectrum of things your ego considers possible; in most cases these things you consider within your reach ends up being stuff that will waste your time, drain your energy and in the end you will just fail. The broadened spectrum is almost always too big for anyone to horn into few things that may fit right into their strengths. Going through life with I can do anything I put my mind to do BS is just a step away from insanity.

The antidote to this widespread disease is being true to yourself and your abilities. Through your strengths, you will not only achieve your dreams easily but also you won’t need as much energy as when you consider everything is in your feet to command.

We can’t all be Messi or Ronaldo, or Michael Jordan, or Usain Bolt. We can’t all be Michael Jackson; we can’t all be Phelps, Tiger Woods or Serena Williams. There are millions of things we will never accomplish but that is fine, we are not God, we are not omnipotent, the idea of having infinite ability contains a level of crazy that none of us should not subscribe to. You suck, it’s totally fine.

As we break out of You Can Do Anything mental slavery that gives us too many options, we are therefore free. Free to choose what to work on basing on our strengths, talents and abilities. We are free to create a path that fits who we are and more importantly creates gives us a level of focus required to easily attain our desires.
